Chargers RC is a non-profit incorporated association registered in Queensland, Australia. All proceeds from racing are used for club improvements such as track rebuilds and purchase of equipment. They are also used for the running of local, state and national events which are usually held once per year.
In 2017, Chargers RC moved from Redbank Plains Recreational Reserve to its current facility at Carole Park, on the corner of Cobalt St and Addison Road. The new facility was provided by the Ipswich City Council and constructed by Magnes Projects. It was completed in August 2017.
Anyone aged from 5 years old and above is welcome to come and race. The club caters for a wide range of skill levels, from the complete novice to the experienced racer. Feel free to come down for a race or even just to spectate. Our club members are more than willing to help anyone wanting to find out about or get started in the hobby.
Usually race days are held every two weeks on either Saturday or Sunday, from early February until early December. Nominations are from 8am and racing from 9am. We usually run 2 heats and 3 finals, each of 5 minutes duration. Racing is usually finished before 4pm.
We only run 1/10 Electric. Classes are 2wd Buggy Stock and Modified, 4wd Buggy Stock and Modified, 2wd and 4wd Stadium Truck, Short Course 2wd and novice.
Depending on numbers we usually run some classes together. 2wd and 4wd stock buggy are probably the most popular classes.
If you don’t have your own transponder, the club has some you can use, and the price is already included in your race fee.
Race fees for members are $10 for 1 or 2 classes. Non-members race fees are $15 for 1 class and $10 per extra class.
Membership is $60 for a year, or $80 for a family of 1 adult and 1 child (16 or under). Newcomers get their first meet free. After that you can either pay a membership or pay non-member prices.
We have some tables and chairs but its probably best bring your own if you have them as it’s first in best dressed.
